The state of public engagement continues to evolve and change as we navigate community challenges associated with the events of the last 2+ years. In 2020, public engagement went virtual. In 2021, hybrid public engagement started to gain momentum along with a return to in-person public engagement. We can’t help but ask, where are we now post-pandemic(ish)? Click below to watch our second annual State of Public Engagement conference, where we had a robust conversation on the various modalities now available for public engagement, best practices for determining which is the right fit for your community, and the challenges associated with each modality. We also discussed what it takes internally to maintain flexibility and adaptability in our current state of public engagement.

This conference was a collaborative effort on the part of public engagement focused organizations from across California which took place on Wednesday July 20, 2022 from 3:30-5:30PM (PDT)

Speakers:

  • Joy Langford, Division One Director of the Water Replenishment District
  • Rhianna Rogers, Director of the Center to Advance Racial Equity Policy
  • Natalie Hernandez, Director of Climate Planning & Resilience at Climate Resolve
