Professional Certificate Application

Describe any previous experience you have with public engagement. What positive or negative experiences have you had with efforts to engage the public?

Please answer each of the following questions in 150-200 words. To allow for cohort members to get to know one another, these responses will be compiled and sent out to all participants in advance of the program. Therefore, please answer each thoughtfully.

The goal of the professional certificate is to practically equip participants to be leaders in public engagement. The program offers various opportunities to workshop and build strategy for real-life engagement efforts. To that end, please describe a public engagement challenge you are facing, or may face in the near future, that you would like to work on during this training.

General Data Protection Regulation

Most participants secure funds for training from their employer to support their participation in this program. If you are sponsored by your agency, please include a confirmation with the administrative requirements for processing funds to Pepperdine University. Personal funds may also cover the cost of the program.

Limited financial assistance is available. To be considered, please submit a request via email to davenport.institute@pepperdine.edu. In the financial assistance request please detail your interest in the program, professional experiences, the amount your employer is able to support, and remaining financial need.
