Emergency Managers Executive Round Table On a quarterly basis, HSAC hosts the Emergency Managers Executive Round Table, which provides a forum for county and city Emergency Managers. The Round Table addresses current and emerging issues, placing emphasis on the Southern California region. On March 12th, Robert Fenton from FEMA Region IX, and Jeff Toney, from Cal OES were in attendance. |

Students represented California State University, Northridge; the University of Southern California; the University of California, Los Angeles; Pepperdine University; and Northeastern University. |

Crisis Leadership: Paths to Success At the L.A. Grand Hotel, Ethel McGuire, Assistant Chief of the Office of Homeland Security and Intelligence, Los Angeles Airport Police; Donna Boston, Director of Emergency Management, Orange County Sheriff's Department; Holly Crawford, Director of the Office of Emergency Services, San Diego County; and Eileen Decker, Former United States Attorney, Central District of California gathered to share their experiences managing wildfires, terrorist attacks, and other violent acts. They offered advice to rising crisis managers and insights concerning future trends in the industry. |

Crisis Leadership and Emergency Management Workshop Our inaugural Crisis Leadership and Emergency Management Workshop brought together high-level officials and executives from the private, public, and civic sectors to discuss some of the most pressing issues affecting our field today. Participants learned best practices in areas including supply chain resiliency, mass notification, and crisis leadership, and learned firsthand from officials who led the responses to recent mass-scale events including the Thomas Fire, Hurricane Harvey, and the Las Vegas Mass Shooting. |
