A distinctive look at the history and undergirding ideas of World Wars I and II.

Often viewed through the lens of military history, World Wars I and II were certainly epic armed struggles—but they were also fierce clashes of competing ideologies and ideas. Setting the stage for one another, both conflicts revealed far more than national preparedness and grand strategy; they marked the opening chapter in an ongoing battle between totalitarianism and freedom. The conversation features two of America's leading historians: Victor Davis Hanson and Joseph Loconte, both renowned for their extensive research on America’s role in the World Wars.

This event is part of the "America at 250" event series on the history of U.S. national security.
