The 2016 Washington, D.C. Summer Seminar, Roots of American Order: Thinking Historically About Public Policy, will be led by two noted American historians, Dr. Ted McAllister and Dr. Steven Hayward.

Steven Hayward is currently the Ronald Reagan Professor of Public Policy at Pepperdine and the Thomas Smith Distinguished Fellow at the John M. Ashbrook Center at Ashland University, where he directs the center's program in political economy. He writes daily on PowerLineBlog.com, and frequently serves as a guest host for Bill Bennett's national radio show, "Morning in America." He writes on a wide range of current topics, including
environmentalism, law, economics, and public policy.

Ted McAllister is the Edward L. Gaylord Chair/associate professor of Public Policy at  Pepperdine and an intellectual historian bringing a historical imagination to the public
policy curriculum. The author of a volume entitled Revolt Against Modernity: Leo Strauss, Eric Voegelin, and the Search for a Postliberal Order, McAllister also serves as coeditor
of Rowman & Littlefield's book series, American Intellectual Culture.
