Centered: Joe LiebermanJoin us for a compelling look at one of the most independent voices in American history. As part of our seminar series, "America's Role in a Perilous World", we are hosting a screening of the new documentary Centered. The film chronicles the remarkable journey of the late Senator Joe Lieberman, the
first Jewish Vice Presidential candidate on a major ticket. Known for his humor and
unwavering independence, Lieberman often prioritized principle over party—a trait
that made him a trailblazer and, at times, a lightning rod for controversy. In today’s
fractured political landscape, Lieberman’s story is a timely exploration of the future
of democracy. Centered challenges us to consider how we might bridge our deepest divides

Speaker: Rob Schwartz
Rob Schwartz is the Founder of Hidden Light Institute and executive producer of Centered:
Joe Lieberman. He served as chief of staff to Senator Joe Lieberman, of blessed memory,
during Lieberman’s tenure as Connecticut State Senate Majority Leader. Rob also acted
as Lieberman’s state political director and later served as campaign director for
his first run for Congress, playing a central role in building and managing his statewide
political organization. A close friend of Senator Lieberman for more than 40 years,
Rob credits him with helping inspire the creation of Hidden Light Institute and supporting
the development of UPHEAVAL: The Journey of Menachem Begin, the first English-language
documentary on the life of former Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin. Rob is a
graduate of the University of Connecticut and Rutgers School of Law.
