Pepperdine School of Public Policy (SPP) is proud to announce Intercollegiate Studies Institute (ISI) has selected two SPP faculty members' books as finalists for Conservative Book of the Year—Edward L Gaylord Chair, Dr. Ted McAllister's latest book, Coming Home: Reclaiming America's Conservative Soul, co-authored with Bruce Frohnen, and Ronald Reagan Professor of Public Policy, Dr. Wilfred "Bill" McClay's latest book, Land of Hope: An Invitation to the Great American Story

“I’m very happy to have Coming Home receive this recognition,” said Pete Peterson, Braun Family Dean at the School of Public Policy. “Not only is it well-written and compelling, it makes an extremely important set of arguments about the history and future of the American conservative movement,” he added.

"To have McClay's book, Land of Hope, also included is such terrific timing, with McClay joining us this year as our Reagan Professor of Public Policy," Peterson said. He added, "As we continue to build out our work in civics education, it's been terrific having Bill here with this essential new American history textbook in hand."

ISI’s Conservative Book of the Year award recognizes thoughtful books that contribute to the rich debate about important conservative ideas. There is a cash prize for the winning author along with ISI’s Paolucci Book Award.

Finalists for this year’s award will be announced in late November and the award will be presented to the winner in St. Louis on Saturday, March 28, 2020.
