Global Finance Thinktank Honors NIPF and Founding Faculty

AIF Global, a leading independent economic think tank focused on exchanging the best ideas, practices, and information among successful institutional asset owners gave the Pepperdine-partnered National Institute of Public Finance (NIPF) an Award of Excellence at its 15th anniversary meetings in New York, New York on January 13, 2020. The award was given for NIPF’s innovation and contributions to the quality of public investment and treasury staff across the nation.

NIPF is a partnership between the Pepperdine Graziadio Business School and the National Association of State Treasurers Foundation that offers an intensive four-day training program in Malibu for treasury staff that combines leading academic, professional, and investor faculty in small, hands-on workshops and sessions. The Institute has grown in each of its three most recent meetings and speakers have included treasury secretaries Timothy Geithner, Robert Rubin, and John Snow.

Also receiving individual awards for their contributions as the founding architects of the NIPF were Pepperdine Graziadio Business School professors Abraham Park and Gary Mangiofico and Pepperdine School of Public Policy professor Michael Shires who serve as the academic leads and chairs for the institute’s three academic tracks.
