Dr. Robert Lloyd Advises Joint NDI-IRI Pre-Election Assessment Mission to Nigeria


Dr. Robert Lloyd, professor of international relations, recently returned from Nigeria as part of a pre-election assessment delegation to assess the upcoming February 14, 2015, Nigieran elections. The international delegation organized jointly by the National Democratic Institute (NDI) and International Republican Institute (IRI). The delegation visited Nigeria from January 15-20, 2015, with the goals to assess the current political and electoral  environment in the lead-up to the February 14 presidential election; assess preparations for the presidential election and offer recommendations to enhance citizenconfidence in the process and mitigate violence; and demonstrate international support for Nigeria’s democratization process.
