Davenport Discussion: "Oil, Organized Crime and Radical Islamic Ideology: International Terrorism and its Financial Network"

What is the “business model” for international terrorism?  Dr. Ben Tabatabaei is an international business and political economist, who has advised U.S. policy makers on foreign policy issues. He has also counseled private companies and foreign governments in strategic investments, public relations, and economic development. Tabatabaei will be speaking on "Oil, Organized Crime and Radical Islamic Ideology: International Terrorism and its Financial Network," on Tuesday, January 26, at noon in SPP 175.

Dr. Tabatabaei has taught at the University of Southern California, the Counter Intelligence Center, and the Combating Terrorism Center at West Point, as well as training the Joint Terrorism Task Force for the FBI on foreign threats emanating from the Middle East to the U.S. Homeland.

Each semester at the Pepperdine School of Public Policy, the Davenport Institute hosts a series of lunchtime Davenport Discussions with practitioners, journalists, innovators, and researchers who speak to students on a wide range of issues from state and local finance to the use of technology in government to the outlook for cities in a state budget crisis and much more.
