Historian Joseph Loconte Leads Annual Licata Lecture on C. S. Lewis and J. R. R. Tolkien

Historian Joseph Loconte will lead the annual Charles and Rosemary Licata Lecture at Wilburn Auditorium located on the Drescher Graduate Campus in Malibu on Wednesday, March 9, at 6 PM.

Loconte’s lecture, “Friendship, Faith, and War,” will focus on authors C. S. Lewis and J. R. R. Tolkien and how their works changed the course of literature. In his talk, Loconte will reference his new book, A Hobbit, a Wardrobe, and a Great War, to tell the incredible, true story of these two authors, and discuss how their works were shaped by war, faith, and friendship.

Loconte is an associate professor of history at The King’s College in New York City. The focus of his curriculum is on American foreign policy and Western civilization.

Copies of A Hobbit, a Wardrobe, and a Great War will be available for purchase at the Drescher Graduate Campus bookstore. Dr. Loconte will be signing copies immediately following the lecture.
