Pepperdine University has begun efforts to establish the Jack F. Kemp Institute for Political Economy at the Pepperdine School of Public Policy. At this point in his life and career, the time is right to honor Kemp's public service, perpetuate and advance his contribution to American political thought, and help educate the next generation of political leadership. The Pepperdine School of Public Policy's unique commitment to American democracy, free markets, and Judeo-Christian values makes it a fitting home for an important part of the Kemp legacy.

The Kemp Institute would Include:
The Jack F. Kemp Library: A physical and digital archive of Kemp's papers from his service in Congress, as Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Secretary and after. This material will be preserved in perpetuity as a part of the University's special collections. Most importantly, the material will be featured through a variety of exhibits and resources online and on campus to educate students, political and business leaders, and the media. The collection will be a rich resource to tell the history of public service as well as the political and intellectual forces that helped shape one of the most important periods in our nation's economic development.
The appointment of the Jack F. Kemp Distinguished Visiting Chair to teach and research in residence at the School of Public Policy. These visiting appointments would range from one to five years and would be offered to individuals whose work and philosophy are of national distinction. Previous and current visiting faculty include: Michael Novak, James Q. Wilson, Daniel Pipes, and Os Guinness.
Annual public lectures and conferences featuring the occupant of the Jack F. Kemp Distinguished Visiting Chair, scholars, and public officials. Related material (lectures, columns, and monographs) would be made available for distribution to media outlets, students, and business and academic friends on the Internet and in print.
