The Intellectual Foundations of Political Economy

A main "contributions" of social science in the 20th century — with some Nobel exceptions — has been the separation of the study of politics from the study of economics. The site reminds the reader of the great works of political economy in the 18th and 19th centuries where the interrelationship between the two fields was emphasized. The choice for scholars in the 21st century is whether to continue the separation of the 20th century or retrieve the earlier association of the two disciplines and thus reintroduce the moral consideration of the interrelationship between political liberty and economic liberty.
