Pittsburgh Public Engagement re: Marcellus Shale

The Marcellus Shale is a natural-gas rich geological formation that runs from New York through Pennsylvania.  With the economic and environmental implications of drilling policy, the City of Pittsburgh along with area governments hosted a public engagement event at the end of last month that sought to both educate and seek feedback from residents.

The event included a “Deliberative Theatre” performance called “Managing Marcellus” (written by a student from Carnegie Mellon University) as well as a panel and deliberative portion.  You can read about this creative engagement process here.
